RC Rougier loses in the final of the Challenge d’Occitanie against L’Entente de La Têt

Après avoir mené au score, les Sud-Aveyronnais ont perdu la partie en seconde période. 

The desire was strong and the supporters were very numerous but it was not enough. Rougier fell in the final against the Catalans of the Entente de La Têt, more pragmatic from the start despite a first try for the Camaresiens by Bernat on a recovery ball.

The Catalans subsequently got their hands back on the ball despite Cambon's penalty which allowed the visitors to worsen the score (8-0). ;The game subsequently became balanced without any team being really dangerous. Casélas allowed the Catalans to open the counter.

More enterprising, the Camarésiens worsened the score twice thanks to two new penalties from Cambon which allowed them to increase their gap in the score (14-3). On one of their highlights, the Catalans however managed to reduce the gap with a new penalty (14-6). Committing a few blunders, particularly on aerial balls, the Camarésiens then conceded a try from winger Lamarque on a recovery ball and favorable rebounds (14-13).

Cornered, the Rougier players suffered at the end of the first period against an opposing team that was more dangerous and more efficient in the occupation game. Shortly before the break, the Têt players logically regained the advantage for the first time in the game thanks to a new penalty from Casélas (14-16).

Sterile occupation of the South Aveyronnais

From the start of the second period, the Camaresians occupied the opposing camp without being able to score. Their opponents gradually regained control of the ball without managing to appear truly dangerous.

A penalty from Cambon allows the Sud-Aveyronnais to regain the advantage (17-16), subsequently attempting to impose their game with carried balls, committing passage of numerous mistakes.

The turning point of the match took place in the 67th minute of play. Following a big defensive error by the visitors, the Catalan Bergès recovered the ball and scored a try between the posts and allows his team to make the first break (23-17). Two new penalties from Caselas reinforce the victory of the Catalans who logically win with a score of 29 to 17.
