Referee arrested for assault: victim believed to be underage player

A 42-year-old man was arrested in Quebec City on Sunday morning for assaulting a child at the Sainte-Foy Sports Center.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) was called to go to 999 avenue de Rochebelle around 9:25 a.m. for an individual who allegedly assaulted a young person. < /p>
According to our sources, the victim was a hockey player about 10 years old who was taking part in a match refereed by the suspect in question.
The information collected by the Journal leaves believe that the latter would have nudged the young hockey player violently for a reason that remains unknown. However, the child did not sustain any major injuries.
“The man was released a few hours later on a promise to appear,” said Sandra Dion, spokesperson for the SPVQ < /p>
