Regional 2: CA Bédarieux, undefeated, prepares its rebound to return to the upper echelon
|Qui fera tomber le CAB cette saison ? – CABGO
Le CA Bédarieux, invaincu cette saison en Régionale 2, ambitionne de retrouver la R1 la saison prochaine, voire plus dans quelques années…
Falling, getting up, always. CA Bédarieux experienced the throes of a descent at the end of last season: the inevitable consequence of a few seasons in the trough of the wave in Regional 1.
"Despite very bad results, injuries, cards, we remained united and few players left the club despite the team's withdrawal. last year", says Dylan Baris, captain this season.
New division
The yellow and blue have discovered a new championship: Regional 2."I must admit that I had some apprehensions about this division, because they say that these are clubs without a game plan, without rhythm etc. But after 11 days, I can say that there are very good teams and we have a lot of fun playing in this category", admits the 25-year-old center, pure product of the Bédarician formation.
His new three-quarter coach, Mathieu Caumette, is not necessarily of this opinion: "What scares me for the future is& ;rsquo;is that there are only 3-4 teams of good level in the group and I anticipate the final stages, that perhaps will not prepare us the best…hellip; ", fears the one who arrived at the head of CABGO in the summer of 2023, after having raised the Blue and White Future to Federal 3.< /p>
"I left the club because I did not have enough guarantees in the ABB project in Federal 3. Bédarieux contacted me and the co-presidents Laurent Puech and Jacques Bosque seduced me, to build a long-term project", specifies the technician, who is now teaming up with Julien Connac, at the helm of the ;rsquo;pennant team, after having officiated, before the ABB (R1), with the reserve of RO Agde.
He brought a clear, precise game system, understood by everyone and completing what had been put in place in past seasons
With 6-7 close players, the three-quarters coach traveled the three-quarters of an hour between Capestang and Bédarieux to bring his rigor and experience.< br />"This season we have been able to impose a line of conduct to be respected, both on the field, to avoid boxes, and in everyday life, particularly for attendance at training, he congratulates himself. By also installing a game project with a real identity."
The identity of the residents of the René-Char stadium is unique, and is based on combat values and a real pleasure in playing in front.
"He brought a clear, precise game system, understood by everyone and complementing what had been put in place in past seasons" , notes Dylan Baris, holder at the center of the Bédarician attack.
One or more shields at the end of the season ?
Undefeated after eleven matches, the CAB rebuilt itself, tasting success again. "The players have eaten their fill in recent seasons", notes Caumette. "The young people, well supervised by the less young, were able to start having fun again, and bounce back", adds Dylan Baris.
To return to the upper echelon, the Héraultais will have to wait for the last four of the final phases of Occitanie. Note that if they continue their good series, the Bédariciens could receive in the play-offs and 8th finals. "We want to dream higher, but we are going to focus first on the Terroir final (which will pit the two best Hérault R2 teams against each other), specifies the captain. But the objective remains to bring one or more shields back to the club, in addition to a lift."
In the meantime, CAB will host Mende this Sunday, to continue dreaming of an offensive rebound.
