Nikki Haley announces her candidacy for President of the United States, as she is the first notable candidate to officially challenge Trump.
“I am running for presidential election,” the former US ambassador to the UN said in a video for her supporters.

The candidacy of 51-year-old Nikki Haley in the 2024 presidential election had been awaited for several weeks. She had promised a “special announcement” Wednesday to her supporters in Charleston, South Carolina, the state of which she served as governor.
