This is a campaign to scare away starlings, mentions Actu.fr. The town of Narbonne, in Aude, wishes "to improve the tranquility of residents and the cleanliness of the area".

Hissing rockets

Following an "untimely proliferation of starlings generating numerous droppings and various nuisances in public and private spaces", the Aude commune decided to set up this campaign in the middle of summer.

Scare the birds away

Whistling and detonating rockets will be used to scare away the birds. The objective is to modify their settlement habits. A campaign of the same type had already taken place from February 5 to 9.

In 2019, the city of Narbonne used birds of prey to hunt starlings, a natural method to limit noise nuisance for local residents.
