Eau périmée et abandonnée
#AVEYRON On the site of a former holiday camp in Saint-Jean-de-Bruel, hundreds of abandoned mineral water bottles are piling up. "For nearly eight years !" claims Jean-Louis Calvet, a resident of the village.
Intended for a trail that did not take place, they had been offered by a sponsor. Since then, their use-by date has been well past, which could lead to a risk of typhoid. On the commune side, it was assured this Thursday, September 26th that “everything will be emptied during the coming weekend”.
Wolf: breeders win a battle
#AVEYRONThe Aveyron breeders' association Cercle 12, which campaigns for better regulation of wolves, notes “that a major step has just been taken” with the validation by the States of the European Union of a “proposal to downgrade wolves”. A procedure that will still take time, particularly on the administrative level, and will require the approval of other European countries. "Ireland (which has no wolves!) and Spain do not seem ready yet. But rapid developments are possible", hopes Cercle 12. The fact remains that, as things stand, as the association points out, "it is already a victory in communication. The media are finally reporting the reality of predation."
Cercle 12 remembers that in 2019, “the new Minister of Agriculture, Annie Genevard, spoke out in favor of lowering this protection. Europe is finally lucid and this lowering is one of the main objectives of our fight at Cercle 12 in addition to supporting breeders who are victims of predation."
Jubillar tried at the assizes
#TARN Suspected of the murder of his wife Delphine Jubillar, who disappeared in December 2020, in Cagnac-les-Mines, Cédric Jubillar will be tried before the Tarn assize court. This Thursday, the investigating chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeal considered that there is sufficient evidence to refer the 37-year-old plasterer to a criminal court.
A decision in line with the attorney general's requests. Imprisoned since June 18, 2021, Cédric Jubillar could be tried in the second half of 2025. These lawyers should formulate, by then, other requests for release. So far, these requests, a good ten in total, have all been refused.
Rhone Plan revised downwards: the elected representatives' revolt
#GARD/BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE. While the State has just announced that only 8 km of the Petit Rhône dikes will be consolidated out of the 26 km planned, the elected representatives of Symadrem are up in arms. A challenge to the Rhone Plan that they do not understand. “Is it a question of profitability ? We are told about the fight against salinity but we are already working on this subject with rice growers” believes Gilles Dumas, Mayor of Fourques.
Symadrem estimates that the modification of the Rhône plan could impact around 18,000 people (17,000 in the Camargue Gardoise, a thousand on the Bouches-du-Rhône side) and cause major agricultural and wildlife damage.
The figure of the day : 60
#LODÈVE Sixty years later, Lodève is honoring the Harki women who worked in the carpet workshop created by Octave Vitalis. He joined the Mobilier National. “It is the story of these women that we wanted to honor with Les Courageuses” notes Fadelha Benammar-Koly who coordinated an ambitious memorial and cultural project with Mémoires Vivantes. On the program: exhibitions, readings, round tables, screenings until November 8.
