Richard Séguin: a new extract, an album to be released and a tour that is fast approaching

Richard Séguin: a new single, an album to be released and an approaching tour with great strides

On the eve of his participation in the big National Day show on the Plains of Abraham, in Quebec City, Richard Séguin unveiled Wednesday the song “Inhabited”, the first extract from his album “Les liens les places” which will be launched by Spectra Musique on September 9.

The 70-year-old singer, who has been rolling for more than 50 years, will also go on tour this fall, as he has done throughout his career.

About “Inhabited”, Richard Séguin says that the song is a collective effort, like the fight that society must lead for the ecology, the protection of territories and love in general, all through citizen movements.

“I had music composed on a basis of three chords which evoked a sort of spiral, it had been sleeping there for four years. I superimposed voices and from these vocal layers a balance was born. The word “inhabited” appeared as a word of refuge and the intimate images that one carries within oneself emerged, the looks, the places, the impressions, the hopes and all the familiar words, “said the songwriter. -performer, in a press release.

“Hugo Perreault consolidated the ensemble on bass and guitars, François Lafontaine added his piano, Simon Godin his unleashed guitar, Alain Bergé in rhythmic creation, Karine Pion did the backing vocals with me, I did all the vocals at my home studio, in short, group work,” he added.

It’s at the Center d’art The Little Church of Saint-Eustache, in the Laurentians, that the trip of Richard Séguin and his musicians will begin on September 15-16-17. These three performances are sold out, as are most of his fall appointments. The artist must hit the road until June 10, 2023, when he will conclude his tour at his home in Saint-Venant-de-Paquette, in the Eastern Townships.
