Road safety: already forty-nine deaths on Gard roads since January 1, 2024

Pour le seul mois de septembre, huit personnes ont été tuées sur les routes dans le Gard.

It's a sad assessment. In his latest report on road safety, the Prefect of Gard drew up some worrying figures for the month of September. On the roads of Gard, 55 accidents were recorded, bringing the number of accidents since the beginning of the year to 343. Concerning the number of injured, here again the observation is alarming: 54 people have been injured, making a total of 433 injured since January 1, 2024.

Accidents linked to speed and addictive driving

But what is most dramatic is the number of deaths on the roads of Gard. In September, eight people lost their lives. In 2024, the toll rises to 49 deaths. An observation that the Prefect of Gard regrets: “Despite the reinforcement of road checks by the police, the number of deaths continues to increase on the roads of Gard, with almost every time accidents linked to speed or addictive driving”, he declares on social networks.
