Rocket: Cayden Primeau can't do it all alone
|BETTING DAY
Less than a day after being sent to the showers during the game against the Rochester Americans, goaltender Cayden Primeau delivered a courageous performance against the Toronto Marlies, but the Laval Rocket have everything even lost 3-2 on Saturday at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
The American was often left to his own devices, as evidenced by his 46 saves. The Rocket came from behind twice, but Max Ellis was the difference maker with 4:56 left in the game.
Erik Kallgren was much less challenged , receiving 21 pitches, but he made the saves during the important moments. The goaltender, who also had a taste of the National League this season, frustrated Riley McKay on a two-on-one run in the second period, and also closed the door on Nate Schnarr on a penalty shot halfway through the first.
Defender William Trudeau scored his third goal of the year on a fine run into offensive territory, leveling the score after a Graham Slaggert pass. Mitchell Stephens also hit the target for the visitors, this time hitting back at Bobby McMann.
The Rocket will return home to face the Americans on Wednesday and Friday. During its five-game trip, head coach Jean-François Houle's squad only collected three points out of a possible 10.
