Roman Polanski sues film Academy
Infamous Director Roman Polanski, who has repeatedly been accused of sexual harassment sues American film Academy. 85-year-old Polanski intends to restore its membership in the organization with the help of the law and his lawyer, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
We will remind that last year the Board of Directors of the Academy expelled the French-Polish Director from the list of its members because of the resumption by the police of Los Angeles cases of sexual relations with a minor, Polanski in 1975 and 1978. The harassment of the filmmaker was also accused by actress Charlotte Lewis.
According to the newspaper, Roman Polanski considers the decision of the Academy are unfounded and calls for the reinstatement of his status. “The Academy has been biased, abusing the ability to leave it a secret and are unable to act as a law. The decision of the Academy about the exclusion is not based on the received information, and information of the Academy are not based on evidence,” – said the Director’s lawyer Harlend brown.
By the way, earlier the wife of Roman Polanski, a famous French actress Emmanuelle Seigner refused to join the American Academy of motion picture arts and Sciences in protest against the exclusion of her husband from the Academy.
