Rosaly Startup Reveals More Than Half of Young People Don't Want to Work This Summer

The start-up publishes a study on young people’s interest in their seasonal work. This demonstrates the lack of interest of those interviewed for these jobs, but highlights the desire for more direct remuneration than that currently practiced.

Specializing in salary advances for employees, the start-up Rosaly conducted a survey of more than 2,127 young people aged 18 to 27, which revealed that more than one in two young people (56 ;nbsp;%) is ’not interested" by obtaining seasonal work this summer. This survey also reveals that those who have already found their seasonal job (18%), 82% have not negotiated their salary, even if they consider the remuneration low and ” ;uninteresting" (51% of them believe they are not satisfied with it). Nevertheless, more than 7 out of 10 young people (72%) perceive that more seasonal job offers are available, compared to previous years.

Increased interest in more frequent compensation

The study also highlights the interest of young people for more direct remuneration than it is on a monthly basis as it is Currently. Thus, 68% of respondents would clearly prefer a job offering “payment at the end of their service”. The latter show greater interest in this type of employment, which they accept more easily.

Finally, regarding tips, more than 7 out of 10 respondents (76%) show their interest in a "jacket" in real time to recover them, this would allow them to spend them immediately or put them aside. "This demand is a key development factor for our structure. Thus, Rosaly is currently developing a new functionality, which allows all servers, for example, to receive their tips directly at the end of each day" says Arbia Smiti, co -founder of the company.

Methodology: the survey was conducted online from May 15 to 24, 2024 with a representative panel of 2,127 young people aged 18 to 27 years, with weighting of responses according to INSEE data.
