Tuesday July 16, the Gruissan-Nîmes stage of the Tour de France cycle will allow cycling fans to see the riders in part of the Gard. Activities are planned in Nîmes between now and then, such as the P'Tour Nîmes on June 6 and 7.

After the dictation of the Tour on March 22 , 625 Nîmes CE2 schoolchildren, from 25 primary schools, will be able to participate in the 4th edition of the P’tit tour Nîmes Thursday 6 and Friday June 7 , from 9 h at 4 p.m., with a sports village on the Esplanade.

There, children, supervised by city leaders, will be able to try BMX, different disciplines and games, thanks to multiple partners. The City is even announcing a dietary awareness workshop.

Learning "Knowing how to ride"

As part of the “Knowing how to ride” learning cycle, students will be able to travel for more than an hour in Nîmes, supervised by cycling teams and the municipal police, with cultural stops. and citizens at the Natural History Museum, the Maison Carrée, the arenas and the Fountain Gardens. "More than 150 bicycles are made available by the City to allow young people from Nîmes to apply the traffic rules acquired during the school year", underlines Halim Belhaj, municipal councilor responsible for community life, volunteering, sports in the neighborhoods, in school and university sports.

The City announced in March its desire to organize Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m., the Tour Festival with a large parade in yellow from the Esplanade to the city center. At the finish line of the stage on Boulevard Allende facing the 7 Collines. An entertainment village will be open on the Esplanade. They will go to Villevieille, direction Vaunage (D40, Congénies and Calvisson) before taking the D1 towards Vergèze, then going to Vestric-et-Candiac (D139) and on the way of the Canals (135). Arrival in Nîmes, probably after 5 p.m., will take the Route de Beaucaire and then go up Boulevard Allende.
