Child seriously injured in a road accident on Saturday in Roxton Falls, Montérégie has succumbed to his injuries Sunday. The information was confirmed by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on Sunday evening.
The child was 11 years of age and not 9 years as the police had said Saturday.
He was a passenger on the back in a car caught up violently by a tractor trailer on route 139, at the intersection of Petit-11e Rang. So it was sitting on the side (right) where the impact took place.
The accident occurred when the driver of the car, which was travelling eastward on the Petit-11e Rang, crossed highway 139 while a truck is travelling towards the north.
Saturday, the SQ indicated that the driver of the car “had advanced without ensuring the way was clear and free”.
The driver of the crashed car as well as another child, 13-year-old, who was also in the vehicle were also wounded, but their injuries were less serious. According to the QMI Agency has learned, the occupants of the car are in Saint-Amable, in Montérégie.
The driver of the truck suffered no injuries.
