While relations in the royal family are now strained, King Charles III once had a special affection for his daughter-in-law.
The royalty expert Katie Nicholls reveals in her book that the British monarch nicknamed the Duchess of Sussex 'Tungsten', reports the Daily Mail.
This is a reference to the transition metal which has the highest melting point of all metallic elements.
“Charles is said to have given this nickname to his daughter-in-law for her strength and resilience,” Ms. Nicholls writes in his book.
The nickname is said to have been given after an early appearance by Meghan and Harry, accompanied by Kate and William. The former Suits actress had been so charming to the royal family that she was given the comical nickname. Tungsten” after she and her husband stripped of their royal titles.
