À l’occasion du lancement du nouvel émoji Formule 1 de WhatsApp, Lewis Hamilton est monté à bord de sa monoplace de 2021 et a fait une démonstration dans les rues de New-York.

If in a few days Lewis Hamilton will be driving on the Miami circuit for the Grand Prix which is being held this weekend, the British driver is already in the United States and driving at high speed. This Tuesday, the new F1 emoji for WhatsApp messaging was launched, where the Mercedes will be available.

A partnership

At the start of the year, the stable and the messaging service joined forces. This partnership led to the appearance of a special WhatsApp button on the steering wheel of Hamilton and Russell. But from this Tuesday, the Formula 1 emoji will no longer be white or red but will resemble the Mercedes, indicates the site Mercedes AMG F1.

"In recent years, both our sport and WhatsApp have experienced an impressive growth journey in the United States. The partnership between us, as a team, and WhatsApp, our official messaging partner, is therefore completely natural. As we prepare for the first Grand Prix in the United States this year, it's fantastic to celebrate our collaboration with several iconic moments and activations in New York that are sure to get people talking", said Toto Wolff, quoted by the gp blog.

A special moment for Lewis

Only a few days before his entry onto the track in Florida, Lewis Hamilton climbed into his legendary W12, his car for 2021, the year of the great rivalry with Max Verstappen. The pilot then made a demonstration in the streets of New York, notably at the foot of famous buildings, such as the Empire State Building.

"Driving an F1 down Fifth Avenue and lighting up the Empire State Building is incredibly special", s& ;rsquo;is delighted Lewis.
