Rugby 7s: choreography, shirts and spectacular play, Jacou Sevens left its mark at the Winter Sevens

Rugby and friends first. C.MILLES

The Fédérale 3 club, committed "for friends", put on a show in the style of rugby sevens, at the Winter Sevens, last weekend.

They are fifteen players in Federal 3 where the final phases await them. In these sometimes tiring championships, monotonous in certain weeks, the Seven is a breather.

The Jacoumards carried spectators under their spell with their joyful breath: "The goal was to recreate this group of friends to bring back to life this spirit specific to the club, explains Alexandre Pic-Gonord, regular third row of RC Jacou and instigator of the project. We are all literally in love with our club and this is, for us, a way of telling it. Reliving this tournament that we experienced two years ago allowed us to simply share a good time.

Choreographies and shirts

Variegated shirts for pinafores, the Jacou Sevens are now known for their signature dance as a warm-up: "It all started with one time I played in Dubai a few years ago. I started dancing in the locker room before a match, it was filmed, the video remained and it grew from tournament to tournament."

At the very recognizable first notes, the regulars flock, the new ones love it: "Everyone knows we have this dance! Some organizers only invite us for that!, laughs Pic-Gonord. They want her because they are sure she will set the mood."

Contagious simplicity

With careful and kitsch communication, Jacou aroused enthusiasm tinged with a significant letting go of the seven-person practice: "We did everything together: training sessions held only between us, evenings to think about our organization, moments of sharing like the one that awaits us to celebrate this participation."

With three wins for one defeat, the Jacou Sevens, finishing ninth out of twelve, reached the Bowl final leading to this mini-distinction: "We laughed a little at the result, but it’s true that the results are great!."
They also sang for their Jacoumard partners from the Sun 7 engaged in Elite and harangued the crowd for a teammate who moved to the South Garonne side. Crushing victory for camaraderie.
