Béziers a encore besoin de travailler ses repères mais a séduit face à Narbonne (36-14) ce mardi soir. Des joueurs sortent, en tout cas, déjà du lot.

10,500 people won over by the oval empire in the stands, a good dose of adrenaline and muscular action on the field, where no one gave their share to the dog… The traditional Feria match which pitted Béziers against Narbonne, the National finalist, this Tuesday evening, will remain a pleasant moment of rugby at the Raoul-Barrière stadium. Especially for ASBH fans since Béziers won (36-14, 24-7 at half-time).

Logique

Certainly, in terms of good play, there is something to be said. Not bad even. But that is logical. Everyone clearly lacks a sense of direction and especially playing time from a collective point of view. So, yes, there were yellow cards (4 in total), dropped balls, poorly adjusted passes, and forward passes. But there were also tries (6 for Béziers by Plazy 17th, 40th and 42nd, Abescat 25th, Gontineac 37th, Tupuola 50th), the desire to produce play and commitment in defense.

The power of Gontineac

This game allowed us to see the potential of some of Béziers' recruits, like center Taylor Gontineac who showed himself to be powerful and fast in his position. Or the massive and sturdy Christian Judje who should be one of the key players in the Béziers scrum. Branden Holder also showed off his speed in the center.
This game allowed the ASBH staff to have a nice review of the squad, recalling that the “old” players of the group, Plazy, Marques, Fernandes, Ancely, Gayraud and Malié, have lost none of their brilliance.

Béziers: Lorre; Courtaud, Recor, Gontineac, Plazy; (o) Malié, (m) Añon; Otunuku, Ancely (cap.), Abescat; Nkinsi, Dodson; Judge, Gonzalez, Amrouni. Entered into play: Boulassel, Fernandes, El Maslouhi, Arroyo, Gayraud, Kuruisaqila, Van Bost, Benoy, Marques, Dreuille, Tupuola, Holder, Reau.
