New Zealand will play for honour, leaving the title to South Africa.
Beauden Barrett has been recalled as a regular at fullback in New Zealand's squad for Saturday's Rugby Championship match in Australia, with All Blacks coach Scott Robertson making four changes.
New Zealand
B. Barrett – Jordan, Ioane, J. Barrett, Clarke – McKenzie (o), Ratima (m) – Savea, Cane, Sititi – Vaa’i, S. Barrett (cap.) – Lomax, Taylor, de Groot.
Subs: Aumua, Williams, Tosi, Darry, Jacobson, Perenara, Lienert-Brown, Reece
Barrett, 33, 130 caps, was not included in the starting team for the 18-12 defeat to South Africa in Cape Town. He returns at fullback, while Will Jordan moves to the wing. “We think it's the best combination, the best balance for us to put Beauden at fullback and Will on the wing,”, Robertson said.
Robertson under pressure
The All Blacks coach is under pressure as New Zealand have won just one of their last four matches, losing both tests in South Africa after a shock defeat in Wellington to Argentina last month. Prop Ethan de Groot, recovered from a neck injury, replaces Tamaiti Williams, who moves to the bench.
New Zealand (3rd, 7 pts) is no longer able to hold on to the Rugby Championship, which South Africa (1st, 18 pts) are in the lead before their double confrontation against Argentina (2nd, 10 pts). Australia is last (4th, 4 pts) and will travel to New Zealand for the sixth and final day next week.
To be continued from 5pm on Canal + Sport.
