Russia entered the top-20 most visited countries in the world in 2018
Last year Russia was visited by 24.6 million foreign tourists

The world tourism organization (UNWTO) publishes annually a ranking of the most visited countries in the world. In the new version, compiled on the basis of the data for 2018, there are some notable changes – tell about the main thing.
As in previous years, on the top of the rankings is France, who took 93,2 million foreign visitors. Compared to 2017, the growth in tourist arrivals was 7,3%. In second place is Spain (82.8 million), the third – USA (82.2 million).

The highest increase of all countries in the top 10 showed Turkey – a plus of 21.7% compared with the 2017 year. If we take all countries in the world, no competition was Tajikistan – plus of 190%.
Russia in a new ranking of the UNWTO took 16-th place – 24.6 million foreign tourists, which is virtually identical to the result 2017 (to 23.9 million tourists). Thus, we can conclude that the world Cup has not had a fundamental impact on the volume of tourist flow to the country.
The total number of tourists in the world in 2018 amounted to 1.4 billion, 5.6% more than the year before.
