Russian arts and crafts: mittens
It’s hard to imagine the cold Russian winter without warm mittens. But in the Pskov region mittens since ancient times was not only a means of protection from the cold, but the amulet and ornament, and even the keepers of cultural traditions.

In the Pskov region mittens, or “dance,” produced with long time. They protect your hands from cold, they chopped wood, worked, and even wondered. On Christmas eve, unmarried threw a sock: if it hits your finger down the girl you will marry, and if a finger up there.
