Sean Farrell has already broken the ice in the NHL with his first game against the Flyers on Tuesday in Philadelphia. Two days later, the Harvard University winger will discover the Bell Center environment.
“I was looking at my locker and I thought it was special, said Farrell when he left the a morning workout. I find myself in the locker room of an NHL team. But there is even more history in that of the Montreal Canadiens.
“I find it cool to see all the history of this team and to belong to the Canadiens. »
For his second NHL game, Farrell will play left wing alongside Jake Evans and Brendan Gallagher against the Florida Panthers.
In his debut, the 21-year-old winger skated mainly with Jonathan Drouin and Denis Gurianov.
“I don't really remember my first appearance against the Flyers,” Farrell said with a smile. It's all very vague. I calmed down after this presence. »
Used for just over 13 minutes against the Flyers, Farrell didn't get off to a great start with no points and no shots. In his defense, the American found himself thrown into the lion's den without even getting a workout with his new teammates.
Chosen among the ten finalists for the Hobey-Baker trophy, the CH's 4th round pick in 2020 had 53 points (20 goals, 33 assists) in 34 games in his second and final season at Harvard.
The winger from Massachusetts, however, was not selected among the last three finalists for this prestigious title. Logan Cooley, Adam Fantilli and Matthew Knies are the lucky ones.
A week without Dach
Upper body injury against Sabers in Buffalo , Kirby Dach will miss a second game in a row. The CH spoke of an absence of at least one week.
At the blue line, David Savard is a doubtful case for this meeting against the Panthers. The defender did not take part in the morning training. Martin St-Louis simply said that it constitutes a pre-game decision.
