Search of an individual suspected of arms trafficking in Longueuil

In line with the CENTAURE provincial strategy, the police officers of the Integrated Arms Trafficking Team (EILTA), coming from the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) and the Sûreté du Quebec (SQ) proceeded Thursday evening, to a search operation in Longueuil.

“The purpose of the operation is to search for evidence in the home of a suspected individual trafficking in firearms. & nbsp;

“The items that will be seized today could help demonstrate the suspect's involvement in criminal activity,” the SQ said in a statement.

The search is said to be the result of collaboration with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) last November.

Established in September, the CENTAURE strategy is mandated to ensure constant pressure on organized crime and thus actively fight against the trafficking of illegal firearms in Quebec. & nbsp;

The operation would allow the SQ ain If it is up to all partner police forces to maximize their efforts at the national, regional and local levels targeting the sourcing, importation, distribution and illegal possession of firearms.
