Ésecondary schools: rapid tests for students from Friday

BET À DAY

Quebec is backing down and will finally make rapid screening tests for COVID-19 available in high schools across the province as of Friday.

“Thus, a A pupil who develops symptoms during the day will be able to take a quick test at school, as will the staff of these schools. In light of the result, he will have to respect the isolation instructions that apply to his situation,” the ministry explained in a press release on Thursday.

Unlike primary schools, this is not rapid screening tests that students can take home. For now, the tests are only available at the school. All 3.6 million rapid tests for preschool and primary school children have left warehouses and will be distributed soon, the ministry said.

As of Thursday, 98% of 12-17 years received a first dose of vaccine, and 90% received their second dose. In addition, 60% of children aged 5 to 11 received their first dose.
