|The mayor received the senator with his 3rd and 4th deputies. A.C.
The two men already knew each other. Jean-Pierre Grand was then deputy for Hérault while Pierre Soujol held the position of municipal deputy. It’was over ten years ago…
The visit of the former mayor of Castelnau-le-Lez at the invitation of the current Lunel had the flavor of a reunion, this Tuesday, April 23, at the ;rsquo;city hall. It was the senator who traveled that day to Pescalune land to take stock of the various projects of the municipal team.
Implement as soon as possible
During the meeting, attended by the 3rd deputy Michel Créchet, delegate, among others, to the city's finances, and Véronique Michel, 4th deputy, notably, to urban strategy, several files were mentioned by Pierre Soujol and Jean- Pierre Grand. The future gerontological center was also on the agenda of the morning and its construction, delegated to the Eiffage Group, "will be done very quickly", informed Mayor Pierre Soujol, before certifying "visibility of the structure before the end of the mandate".
"Lunel is a city which is transforming and which is transforming well", insisted Jean-Pierre Grand, highlighting the important facilities that the city houses, particularly in terms of health. And the parliamentarian concluded on "this major development which brings benefits on social and human levels for Lunel which, in this great evolution, safeguards its identity".

At the end of his meeting with Mayor Pierre Soujol, Jean-Pierre Grand wanted to express his feelings – and his anger – regarding the candidacy of Frédéric Bort in the next municipal elections.
"He has already ruined his family (the Socialist Party, Editor's note), we must not not that he will ruin Lunel! He really has no shame. If Georges Frêche knew that he was running for municipal elections under the banner of the National Rally, he would have sent him through the window of the 8th floor of the Hôtel de Région! »
And the senator concluded, repeating the words of François Mitterrand: "Nationalism is war!". It indeed seems declared…
