Senators forward set to be traded

Forward Tyler Motte will be released from the Ottawa Senators on Sunday as he may be involved in a trade shortly.

Aged 27, Motte is a support player who has worn the colors of five teams since the start of his career. Last September, he signed a one-year deal worth $1.35 million with the “Sens”.

This season, the Michigan native has scored three goals and nine points in 38 duels. He dished out 88 hits and blocked 43 shots, while recording only four penalty minutes.

Last season, his fifth with the Vancouver Canucks, Motte was acquired by the New York Rangers for a fourth-round pick before the trade deadline. He notably played 15 playoff games with the Blueshirts, scoring two goals.

In 307 games in the Bettman circuit, Motte amassed 71 points. He also played with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
