A car crashed at the bottom of the Boulevard des Sources viaduct in the Pointe-Claire borough in the west of the island of Montreal on Saturday around 4 a.m. leaving two seriously injured.
The vehicle fell several meters below on Cardinal Avenue. One person was thrown away while the other got stuck in the demolished car. The two seriously injured individuals were transported to a hospital.
The scene was protected for investigators from the collision investigation section of the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) and speed could be in question according to Caroline Chevrefils, public relations officer of the SPVM.
This is the second time that a vehicle has fallen at the bottom of this viaduct. At the end of November, a man in his forties lost control of his vehicle and fell down the viaduct, ending his race on the hood near a bus shelter. Miraculously, the driver suffered only minor injuries.
