La question a suscité la protestation en conseil d’Agglo Sète Agglopôle alors qu’une nouvelle grille tarifaire pour les usagers de la gare de Sète, en pleine transformation vers un pôle multimodal, était soumise au vote.
While the second phase of work on the multimodal hub around the station, with the creation of a 170-space car park, is currently being developed in the northern sector and should be completed by summer 2025 (opening of the footbridge next month), new rates are being introduced, with the creation of a specific subscription for daily TER users.
40 € per month to park your car in the future North car park
Its price, 40 €/month in the North car park, made Véronique Calueba jump. "That's 480 € per year to park your car at the station while it's free in Frontignan to take the same TER ! We must be consistent if we want to promote soft travel!“, she said on Thursday evening at the Agglomeration Council.
The cost of renting the land to the SNCF would justify this price that the elected official describes as a “disguised tax”. The mayor of Frontignan, Michel Arrouy, assured that the parking at his station would remain free even after its renovation.
