Several hundred teachers on strike demonstrate in Montpellier this Thursday afternoon

Four national education unions, FSU, FO, CGT and Sud, have called for a day of strike this Thursday in schools and secondary establishments. A significant participation is expected. Since 2 p.m., demonstrators have been taking place at the Comédie.

Salaries, resources, working conditions, reforms: the reasons for dissatisfaction are numerous in National Education. To make this discontent heard, four unions, the FSU, FO, CGT and Sud are calling on teachers but also agents for a day of strike this Thursday. This morning, students from the Jules-Guesde high school expressed their solidarity by blocking access to the establishment.

Significant participation ?

The demonstration organized this afternoon starts from the Place de la Comédie and then reaches the station, the Jeu-de-Paume, the Peyrou and ends in front of the rectorate. Several hundred demonstrators are present for this first day of actions since the appointment of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra to the ministry.
