Severe thunderstorm watch and heat alert has been issued Tuesday in different regions of Quebec, due to the installation of a hot and humid heatwave.
Environment Canada has issued a heat alert for Montréal, Laval, Gatineau and the eastern townships, so that the heat wave could also reach the North Shore and the Laurentians.
Temperatures will exceed 30 °C during the day, with a humidex approaching 40, so that it will above 20 °C during the night.
The western of the Laurentians, the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and the regions north of the latter could experience severe thunderstorms in the course of the afternoon and evening.
Hail could strike these regions and the conditions are conducive to tornadoes, has reminded Environment Canada.
