#BEAUCAIRE/GARD – On Friday, September 6, 2024, at around 5 a.m., a woman, a municipal employee, was walking in a residential area of ​​Beaucaire (Gard) when she explained that she had been very violently attacked from behind. A man grabbed her by the neck to make her fall to the ground where he continued to hit her. The fifty-year-old managed to struggle and hit her attacker. Despite this attempt to free himself, the individual made sexual gestures on the victim. Managing to free herself, she fled and found refuge at the municipal police station. She showed signs of being beaten, particularly on her face, and was taken to the Nîmes University Hospital. Police forces were mobilized to identify the attacker and a man who could match the suspect's profile was located in an apartment and arrested. The 29-year-old man was taken into custody. He is believed to be a Spanish national living in Beaucaire. Investigations continued on Sunday while awaiting legal action.

New life for Villa Rey saved by a family

#BEZIERS – In February 2022, Natacha and Olivier Marguerat, from the Paris region, embarked on a crazy bet: to renovate Villa Rey, a gem of Béziers' heritage. After months of construction, they are living in part of the house and are preparing to open Arlett, a vintage bicycle café. “The idea was to respect the original building.
