Almost two years after the entry into force of France identity, the SNCF announced on May 27 that the digital proof was now recognized as a valid identity document during checks on the train.
It was its general director, Alain Krakovitch, who confirmed the news via ;nbsp;"now accepted to prove identity on board".
"Possible to present a visual of your card on France Identity"
However, implementing the measure takes "always a little time" because all agents are being informed of the change, said the director of SNCF Travel.
Due to'"assaults" which "took place recently" towards captains during identity checks, Alain Krakovitch reminded on ;rsquo;approved identity", the ticket " being nominative".
And add : "It is also possible to present a visual of your identity card on the application France Identity".
One year after the controversy
This announcement comes a year after the request of an Internet user on X to the SCNF on the eligibility of a card dematerialized during a check on board a train.
The SNCF then ensured that each traveler must present their "identity document physics" while France Identity explained, with supporting legal texts, that the dematerialized identity card did indeed represent a legal means of proving one's identity.
