SNCF: sale of train tickets for the first days of summer opens this Thursday

À partir de ce jeudi 7 mars, il est possible de réserver ses billets de train pour les congés de printemps et début d'été : la SNCF ouvre sa billetterie pour la période du 23 mai au 5 juillet.

Good news for those who are already planning their next sunny getaway: this Thursday, March 7, the SNCF is opening its first reservations for the TGV Inoui and Intercités for the period from May 23 to July 5.

To travel with Ouigo, reservations are however only available for sale 45 days before departure. For TER, the opening time is set on a case by case basis. case depending on the region 3 to 5 months before the date of the journey, as specified by the SNCF.

Book early

The SCNF advises travelers to book their journeys as soon as sales open to take advantage of the best prices, with fares increasing as trains fill up and the departure date gets closer, and maximize the chances of being seated together when traveling in a group. 

Ticket prices should already cost a little more, since the railway company has announced an average increase in its prices of 2.6% for the TGV Inoui, while the prices of Intercités and Ouigo have been frozen. 

Opening of the ticket office for summer holidays

This first wave therefore does not concern the summer holidays which begin in France on Saturday July 6. The opening of the ticket office for the period from July 6 to September 1 will take place on Wednesday March 13 at 6 a.m.
