Désormais joueur à Umm Salal, le Sétois Andy Delort est revenu dans les colonnes de L'Equipe sur son malaise survenu le 6 janvier dernier.

"On the day of the game I had zero battery, I drank energy drinks and coffee, coffee… . to compensate and make me feel good", explains the former Montpellier HSC player. After a quarter of an hour of play, the striker who now plays for Qatar collapsed on the field. "My body made a sudden Technical knockout. Like boxing. But more fear than harm", he commented.

"I felt like my brain had blacked out"

A few minutes after his discomfort in the final of the Qatar Stars Cup, Delort, like a good captain, returned to the field to lift the trophy won by his teammates. "As things were getting better, I returned to the field before half-time. And after a super stressful final, it was me who lifted the Cup. Two hours later, I was on the plane to go find my family in Corsica", the player told the sports daily.
