It is in the running for the Region's participatory budget. Citizens have until January 15 to vote. Main objective of the association: to cultivate small agricultural areas made available by individuals, institutions or communities.
The Semons l’Avenir Ensemble association was created in September in Pont-Saint-Esprit by a small collective of citizens who no longer find themselves in current society and who have complementary backgrounds and skills. "It is important for us that humans, their health and well-being are at the heart of everyone's concerns!, says Céline Pivier, the president. Because health comes first and foremost through food, our main mission consists of cultivating small agricultural areas made available by individuals, institutions or communities, according to the principles of permaculture and agroecology. The harvests will be offered, at prices adapted according to profiles, within the confines of a third place where different activities and workshops on food, health and others will be offered, in addition to ;a café and solidarity boutique-grocery section, with a showcase for all the artisans and producers of the region." This is the heart of the project of the small team which has already made good progress: "We we currently have 4,000 m2 of land to exploit; some made available free of charge, others for rent or with contributions." Among the project partners, "we are proud to count on the Pont-Saint hospital center -Esprit and their land on the Notre-Dame-de-la-Blache site. In addition to nourishing culture, we will work together on a project with the residents of the nursing home and the residence through market gardening and hortitherapy.
Permanence this Thursday, January 11 at the social life space
The citizens of Semons l’AvenirEnsemble wish to collaborate with existing associations to be complementary and respond more effectively to the needs and expectations of the population of the Pont territory (fourteen municipalities in total). The project also includes a social and integration component. For all this, funding is needed. The project is in the running among 132 projects for the participatory budget of the Occitanie region, “Your solutions for the climate and your food", for which citizen voting is open, online on laregioncitoyenne.fr, until January 15. The three most popular projects will be subsidized by the Region.
Céline Pivier will be on call at the Pont social life space this Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for anyone who would like to know more about the project and to assist them in the voting procedure if necessary.
