Sporting stops in the round of 16 in the Coupe de Haute-Loire

Les Langonais se sont inclinés 3 buts à 1 après avoir ouvert le score en premier, face à Vergongeon, une équipe évoluant à un échelon supérieur (R2) au Sporting (R3).

The Langonais, who had chosen to include three young people under the age of 18 in the group, goalkeeper Raphael Jouve, full-back Tsiaro Accot, and left winger Mathys Michel, had started this match in the best possible way, playing bravely took their chances against a Regional 2 team, and quickly created several scoring opportunities, notably by Mischma.

In the 10th minute, when he recovered the ball at the edge of the area and the Altiligère goalkeeper rushed up recklessly, we thought that Mischma had got the better of him… Unfortunately, the shot was a little too cross and went wide of the left post. A quarter of an hour later, on a corner well taken by Charles Albouy, Florian Almeras rose higher than everyone and forced the opposing goalkeeper to relax to repel his diving header. The ball then arrived at the feet of Mischma who had followed well and who managed to place the ball at an impossible angle (1-0).

Vergongeon players nevertheless proved dangerous. On a high ball, the young Langogne goalkeeper came out of his cage and was lobbed without difficulty 5 minutes from the break (1-1). So much control and so much combativeness destroyed by a trivial action, it was a little difficult to accept, just before half-time.

The second half began under the same auspices, with still great opportunities for Wilfried Blanc's men, but each time thwarted at the last second, either by the foot of a defender, or by the intervention of the Vergongeon goalkeeper, or with shots off target.

In the 67th minute, a free kick close to the area allowed the visitors to take the advantage (1-2). The Langon goalkeeper, placed in the center of the goal, did not anticipate the shot in his right corner. Sporting did not give up, however, and proved dangerous on several occasions, but without putting the ball in the net. In the final action of the match, Raphael Jouve advanced to repel a shot from Black, but right at the feet of the center forward who had followed well and who had fun sending a beautiful plum into the empty cages ( 1-3). It was a pleasant match against a slightly superior Regional 2 team but the Langonese can regret the number of missed opportunities…
