Le réceptionneur-attaquant du Montpellier HSC-VB qui a participé au JO de Paris en beach-volley évoque l'importance d'être disponible pour les jeunes joueurs.
What was your reaction when you were asked to be a sponsor of Sportissime ?
I accepted naturally, it's important to be there for an event that works well, that attracts many people to a nice place, Lac du Crès. I'm going to take advantage of my current availability to sponsor this edition.
How important is it for young people to meet champions, to see Olympic medalists in addition to having the opportunity to practice sport ?
It makes a difference. Many top athletes don't realize the impact they can have by having this real exchange with young people. Sometimes 5 or 10 seconds, a look, an autograph, a hug, a word, etc. are enough and it makes a difference. Athletes are happy to join Sportissime to share a little of their time. We need to encourage young people to do physical activity. We need to fight against a sedentary lifestyle, it's essential.
During the Games, we dreamed, we were thrilled by watching top-level sports, etc. Participating in Sportissime is a great opportunity to discover and do sports ?
The timing is perfect… The Tokyo Olympics with the health crisis, it was complicated to live through and I have the impression that we struggled to get people out. These Games in France were a liberation, people needed it. We have to ride this wave, organize events like Sportissime.
You are going to participate in Sportissime for the first time. What do you expect ?
I expect anything, 30,000 people gathered. I imagine a packed Lac du Crès, full of stands, food trucks, joy, shouting, life and sunshine. Also, entertainment that will allow people to have fun, to have a good time. Sporty, it's going to be great.
