Nobody stays dead for very long in the Star Wars saga… Then that Star Wars 9 : The Ascent of Skywalker, still in cinemas now, has revived Palpatine, another cult figure could well make his return : Luke Skywalker. The Jedi played by Mark Hamill could make an appearance in the series on Obi-Wan Kenobi in preparation for Disney+.
The saga of the Skywalker ended the movie with Star Wars 9 but the universe created by George Lucas has not said its last word. Several projects of movies and series are in progress on the side of Disney. After The Mandalorian whose season 2 will arrive in the fall of 2020 on Disney+ (the platform will be available to us as of march 31, 2020), you will discover several series, including a prequel Rogue One, and a show devoted to Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor.
Luke Skywalker return ?
According to FandomWire, Disney+ would be currently looking for a young actor to embody… Luke Skywalker ! The series devoted to Obi-Wan – who has not yet officially title – should take place 8 years after the events of
Star Wars episode 3 : Revenge of the Sith in which the Jedi were killed by Anakin Skywalker. We know thanks to the novels and comics that after this drama, Obi-Wan Kenobi hid on Tatooine to monitor the evolution of Luke, son of Anakin/Darth Vader and Padme.
The site of FandomWire states that Luke should appear as a child in the series of Disney+ but it is not known whether it will be for a single occurrence or for a greater role. According to the site, Joel Edgerton, who played Owen Lars, the half-brother by alliance Anakin, in the prélogie and who has raised Luke is expected to resume his role.
The release date of this future series has not yet been announced but it should be composed of 6 episodes and arrive in 2021. If we believe the rumors, Disney will also work on a project about Kylo Ren, but Adam Driver, who embodies the character has recently denied his involvement in any project around the saga.
