This Sunday 15 December, TF1 diffuse à 21h05 the film Rogue One, A Star Wars Story, a spin-off of the famous saga created by George Lucas. No, a sequel is not planned, but did you know that Disney+ prepares a series in which we will discover the past of Cassian Andor played by Diego Luna ? Here’s everything we already know about the project.

Launched in November in the United States, the platform Disney+ will happen in 2020 in France. The program ? Many of the original series from universe flagship of the famous studios, including several series for Marvel, but also shows centered on Star Wars. The platform has already launched The Mandalorian, is preparing a series about Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor and would also be in the process of developing a show about the past of Kylo Ren. But this is not all : Cassian Andor, one of the main characters of Rogue One, A Star Wars Story, would also have the right to have its own series.

The story

The action of this series that has not yet a title run (of course !) before the action of the Rogue One. We will follow Cassian Andor during the early years of the Rebellion (we remind you that Rogue One takes place between episodes III and IV of the saga of George Lucas). The series is described as a “spy thriller” in which Cassian Andor will carry out dangerous missions to restore hope in a galaxy that is in the hands of the Empire.

The cast

This in Rogue One, Diego Luna resumes its role as Cassian Andor of this prequel. We also know that the droid K-2SO doubled in the original version by Alan Tudyk will be back in the series. No other actor has been announced for the moment. Side technical team, Stephen Schiff, who has been writer and producer of The Americans, will be at the head of the series.

The shooting

A few months ago, the president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy announced that the shooting of the series will begin in 2020 in London. No other details have been announced.

One thing is for sure : it will have to wait. No release date has been announced for the moment.
