Starmania rewarded in France, Luc Plamondon moved

The new version of the rock opera Starmania was crowned musical show of the year in France, during of the 34th Nuit des Molières, a prize that earned Luc Plamondon a long ovation.

On stage to pick up one of the two prizes won by Starmania version 2022 (the other was that awarded to the best visual and sound creation), the great Quebec lyricist was overwhelmed with emotion, in this which was, according to a report of Paris-Match, “the moment to remember” of this 34th presentation of the Molières, supreme award of French theater. 

Too many Moved to speak, Luc Plamondon let director Thomas Jolly do the usual thanks. 

Other artisans of Starmania, including Quebec singers David Latulippe and Miriam Baghdassarian, are nominated for prizes at the Musical Comedy Trophies ceremony, which will take place on June 12, in Paris.
