Future engineers attached to various departments at the Université de Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Engineering have been chosen for the development of a small satellite that will be sent to space by 2021.
The QMSat team was awarded one of 15 grants over $ 200,000 over three years, awarded by the Canadian Space Agency.
The CubeSats initiative aims to design, manufacture, launch and operate a satellite as big as a pint of milk. The “nanosatellite” will be sent into space from the International Space Station.

More than 150 students in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics and aerospace engineering will be involved in targeted training in space technology.
