Warner Bros. started work on a sequel to “Aquaman”, reports The Wrap. The project involved the same authors who made the first film. The script will be written by David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick, the Director of the first part of James WAN will be the producer (if he’ll take the Director’s chair, is not yet known).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, usually the big studios launch the sequels to the work immediately after the release of the blockbuster rental, and even before the release. In the case of “Aquaman”, the delay may be caused by the fact that the Studio was waiting for the consent of the authors of the first film.
“Aquaman” with Jason Momoa in the title role brought the Studio over $1.1 billion (with a budget of $67,8 million), became the highest grossing film in the DC universe, surpassing even the blockbuster Christopher Nolan “the Dark knight: the legend”.
