Summer tour: festive stopover in the heart of Pescalune

Thomas, 10 years old, Célestine, 9 years old, and Maxime, 4 years old, competed against each other during a treasure hunt. This is the brand new game offered by the Summer Tour team. Rebuses to decipher, riddles to solve, well-hidden clues: you will have to show reflection and ingenuity to win the game. This time, it was Thomas (center) who won, thanks to a few extra seconds of speed compared to his opponents.

The journey of the Summer Tour continued this Friday July 19 in Lunel. Meeting with elected officials, traders and residents who bring the area to life.

It’s 9 a.m. and the pace is still slow on Friday July 19. The faces of the people of Lunel, marked by the festivities, seek to regain a little energy after four days of intense celebration. La Pescalune, this annual celebration honoring traditions, began on Saturday July 13, marked by an unforgettable day on July 14. The inhabitants therefore take advantage of these few hours of respite to prepare to live intensely the last two days, rich in events: abrivado, bandido, final of the 3M Trophy, a so-called extraordinary bullfight, the program is still dense.
However, this fatigue did not dissuade some residents from coming to meet the Summer Tour team and participating in the games to try to win gifts.

Lunel in perpetual transformation

Coming to have fun, yes, but not only that. By listening, it was also an opportunity to listen to the different stakeholders in the area, including elected officials, traders and even associations. Paulette Gougeon, municipal councilor elected for urban cleanliness, public works and community life among others, praised the city's progress at Laurent's microphone: « We are becoming more and more attractive thanks to the Métamorph’Ose system. The city has changed enormously, whether in terms of living environment, shops, or entertainment, and it's not over, we still have plenty of surprises. I'm not going to reveal everything to you. » Improvements to make daily life easier for residents but also to attract people. In Lunel, « we know how to accommodate », adds the elected official. Not to mention all the things that the municipality offers during the summer period. After Pescalune, there is no time to rest with the arrival of Lunel Tuesdays (see opposite), exhibitions at the museum, the return of the Guinguettes and above all, the great festival of jazz, which will be held this year in Jean-Hugo Park. Free and unmissable for twenty years, this festival attracts many fans each year.
Furthermore, the city offers many places all year round to have a pleasant time and taste local products.

Events to have fun this summer

Tuesday: every week, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., the City offers “Les Mardis de Lunel”, friendly meetings bringing together traveling restaurateurs and winegrowers. At the same time, artisans will offer jewelry, accessories, painting, decorative objects, etc. All accompanied by a musical group to liven up the evening.
Workshops: organized by the Médard museum, “The little bibliophiles” are free workshops aimed at children aged 7 and over. After immersion in the exhibition dedicated to Jean Hugo, children will have the opportunity to participate in a creative workshop.
