The Midi Libre Summer Tour will set up shop this Monday, September 2, in Clermont-l'Hérault.
Meetings, activities and games will be on the program for this new stage in the presence of our partner Pasino La Grande-Motte.
Come in large numbers!
1: Activities for young and old
As in previous editions of the Summer Tour, the Midi Libre stand present this Monday, September 2 in the heart of Hérault will offer games and activities for young and old. Children will be able to take part in a treasure hunt, where they will have to find clues to complete a course and win many gifts. A one-armed bandit, the famous game of chance found in casinos, will also be on hand to occupy and delight the most playful. Enough to promise lots of laughs and great times!
2 : In the company of the Brescoudos
This stage will be like no other. This Monday, September 2, the Summer Tour team will not be the only ones to set the mood, the city will also have the honor of hosting the famous Brescoudos. This annual event brings together thousands of bikers from all over France and Europe, in Cap d'Agde and its surroundings. On the program: meals with the bikers, motorcycle rides, and various activities throughout the day. It's the perfect opportunity to admire Harley-Davidsons and Goldwings, the real stars of this gathering, all in the company of Midi Libre.
3: An environment to share
It's not hard to understand why bikers choose to stop for a while in this small town. Located in the heart of the department, Clermont-l'Hérault offers an exceptional living environment. The Salagou lake, which needs no introduction, is distinguished by a mosaic of colors where the deep blue of the waters and the red earth, called ruffes, bear witness to a rich history, mingle. And who says Lake Salagou, also says Cirque de Mourèze, perfect for a timeless hike, surrounded by limestone rocks with astonishing shapes.
4: A high-quality artisanal oil
The cooperative oil mill L’Oli d’Oc is also a must-see. Founded in 1920, it is the last cooperative in the department to produce olive oil. With more than 1,500 members, it offers free tours of the Maison de l’Olivier, upon request, to discover the secrets of olive extraction and taste a typical oil from the region.
5: La croustade Clermontaise
A visit whets the appetite! Fortunately, the people of Clermont have an essential specialty to taste: croustade. Formerly prepared by the “mamés”, this vegetable and meat stew, cooked over a wood fire, required two days of cooking.
Gérard Bessière, Mayor of Clermont-l’Hérault. MIDI LIBRE
The mayor's interview
Gérard Bessière (mayor of Clermont-l’Hérault): « A city resolutely on the move »
Are you satisfied with the dynamics of your city?? Clermont-l’Hérault is resolutely on the move, a reality recognized by both local stakeholders and residents. We focus our efforts on three main areas: improving housing, strengthening public services (police, EHPAD, library among others) and enriching activities. In 2024, we counted 90 concerts. Our entertainment program is rich and designed for all audiences.
How do you envision the Clermont-l’Hérault of tomorrow ?
We are designing the Clermont-l’Hérault of tomorrow. We must not forget that it is a «Bourg Centre», ideally located in the heart of Hérault. For example, we are actively working on the renovation of the old centre, on a development concession, on the creation of a half-interchange for more direct access to the city. There are many projects.
What do you expect from this day, between the Summer Tour and the Brescoudos ?
Since August 30, we have been celebrating the Clermont festivities, which will continue this Monday with the passage of the Brescoudos. 350 vehicles are announced and all this is taking place at the time of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation. An anniversary that was, moreover, brilliantly celebrated by Midi Libre. And it is true that there is a link to be made between these Brescoudos which embody the freedom to move, and these commemorations which also mark this idea of liberation. There is a real twinning between the two events, and we are eagerly awaiting them.
The unmissable
Associations Festival
It's time to put away the swimsuits and sunscreen because the summer holidays are well and truly over. But even worse, it's back to school! Fortunately, it doesn't only have bad sides. You can buy new supplies, show off your last pair of shoes and, above all, take up a sporting or cultural activity. And for that, there's no shortage of choice. To find the one that suits you best, the city is organizing the Associations and Sports Festival this Saturday, September 7. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., a multitude of associations await you at the Jean Pinet stadium to present their activities, whether they are sporting, cultural or charitable.
Let's remember!
As you already know, 2024 is not an ordinary year. It marks the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of France, an important anniversary that allows us to honor great figures. In Clermont-l’Hérault, the Association of former members of the Bir-Hakeim maquis, still committed to ensuring the duty of remembrance, invites the people of Clermont-l’to meet on Saturday, September 14, in front of the General de Gaulle stele, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Bir-Hakeim maquis in Hérault and to recall the participation of this maquis in the fighting for the liberation of our region.
Éric Mula concert, this Saturday, September 21
It's a festive start to the school year and the music school of Clermont-l’Hérault is already ready to set the mood for this new season. Starting on Saturday, September 21, it is organizing its first unmissable event of the new school year and will welcome the great Clermont trumpeter Éric Mula. Having mastered the instrument since a young age, he has already played alongside the greatest national and international stars. He will, of course, come with his inseparable Yamaha trumpet, to the great delight of connoisseurs. The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m., allée Roger Salengro. A free event open to all.
