In recent years, the Super Bowl has been an opportunity for the NFL to expose brand new palaces to the face of the world. In Los Angeles, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Santa Clara and other markets, new stadium jewelry was in the spotlight. This year, the league is looking instead to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Even if it is not gleaming and pharaonic like some of its recent predecessors, the home of the Arizona Cardinals represents a safe bet since the Goodell circuit presents the Super Bowl there for the third time in 15 years. A BIT OF HISTORY
- When they have moved from St. Louis in 1988, the Cardinals were to temporarily reside at Sun Devil Stadium at Arizona State University in Tempe.
- In the 1990s, the plan was to build a new stadium in Phoenix, but a recession dampened funding.
- It was in Glendale, about fifteen kilometers from Phoenix, that the project finally saw the light of day.
