Surreal scene in Turkey: a military plane skims motorists a few meters after a “technical incident”

Ce 23 janvier 2024, un avion militaire a semé la panique en Turquie en rasant des automobilistes avant de se poser en urgence dans un champ.

More fear than harm in Kayseri in Turkey in the Cappadocia region. This city in the center of the country saw a Turkish Air Force C-160 Transall military plane flatten motorists, who were frightened. The aircraft had taken off shortly before and encountered a "technical incident”, reports Le Figaro.

"We are still in shock"

This problem encountered forced the military plane to fly at low altitude, and as a result, skimmed and passed very closely alongside cars but also certain buildings in the city center. The surreal scene was filmed by witnesses who were very surprised.

"It's a scary moment, we are still in shock", says  Muhammed Aytekin. "The plane passed over the lighting poles in the middle of the road", reports another witness on the spot.

The C-160 had to make an emergency landing in a field off the runway. This was also filmed. While this could have turned into a tragedy, fortunately, no casualties were reported. "The aircraft suffered minor damage. The health of our pilots and crew is stable", declared the Turkish Ministry of Defense in a press release, relayed by Le Parisien.

The damage was only material, as the images indicate, only the wings and fuselage of the aircraft were affected by this incident during the shock. These facts occurred as part of an exercise mission.
