Suspicious package alert in the heart of Alès: rue Michelet cordoned off

Since 2 p.m. this Thursday, February 29, rue Michelet has been inaccessible due to a suitcase abandoned on the sidewalk.

It was the presence of a blue suitcase on wheels, abandoned on the sidewalk, which alerted the police. 

Since 2 p.m. this Thursday, February 29, rue Michelet, in the heart of Alès, has been closed off due to a suspicious package alert. Municipal police forces are preventing all traffic while they receive safety instructions, and possibly a mine clearance team. 

During the intervention, cars and pedestrians are prohibited from driving in the street. People living and working in adjacent premises, including employees of the Atome d'Alès Agglo building, were evacuated for safety.
