Pas de jour férié pour Félix Lebrun. The Montpellier native was on deck this Wednesday and had a round of 16 to play. He faced world number 9, the Japanese Tomokazu Harimoto, at the Saudi Smash, one of the most important tournaments of the season.

And the 17-year-old bespectacled prodigy impressed. In 16 minutes, the world number 5 completed his match against a regular on the world circuit. Final score: 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-5) and a ticket to the quarter-finals stamped.

"I played perfectly technically and tactically", assured Félix at the end of his match.

Ma Long's quarter-final winner

This is a top performance for Félix Lebrun. A much more controlled performance than the day before, where he got scared in the round of 16 against the German Benedikt Duda.

See you this Thursday, May 9, at 3:50 p.m., for the quarter-final. He will face the South Korean Woojin Jang, 20th in the world and winner of the legend Ma Long in the round of 16.

Alexis and Félix Lebrun are in the semi-finals of the doubles tournament at Saudi Smash. Their meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. this Thursday.
