Ten restaurateurs from the Sherbrooke region will take up the challenge of offering 100% local plates. Throughout the month of April, they will offer their customers dishes that are full of products from the region.
C is Destination Sherbrooke who proposed restaurateurs Sherbrooke compose an entirely of flat products in the region. Ten of them have decided to embark on the adventure, it is announced.
They will offer their own interpretation of what local products have inspired them. The challenge is launched as part of the Sherbrooke World Cinema Festival (FCMS).
The 100% local plate promotion will be available at participating restaurants from April 2 to 30, 2020.
Holders of a passport for the FCMS will be able to obtain a 10% discount on their 100% local plate upon presentation of it.
The establishments that join this first edition of the 100% local plate are the restaurants OMG Resto, Méchant Steak, L’entre’Amis, Savo, Lo Ré, Bistro DT, Tapageur, Da Toni, Kalypso and Overflow.
They had carte blanche over the choice of local foods that they will include in their dish. To find out more, simply visit the assiettelocale.ca website as of March 25.
Destination Sherbrooke also decided to offer a contest to generate interest. The Savo, Bistro DT, Overflow, Lo Ré and Kalypso will offer five free tastings of their 100% local plate, each accompanied by a pair of tickets for the FCMS festival. All the details of the competition will be available in La Tribune on March 25.
Upstream, on Monday March 16, will be held the Salon des restaurateurs at the Center de foires de Sherbrooke. As part of this Destination Sherbrooke initiative, nearly twenty producers in the region will present their products to restaurateurs in the Eastern Townships.
