Canada's Bianca Andreescu did well in the second round of Thursday's Thailand Open in Hua Hin, beating Russia's Anastasia Zakharova 6-2, 7-5.
The favorite of the competition and 42nd player in the world needed 1h31 min to defeat the 196th racquet of the WTA and reach the quarter-finals.
The winner slammed four aces, but committed as many double faults. Above all, she was perfect on break points, managing to take the serve of her rival four times in as many occasions. For her part, Zakharova has broken once.
In the next stage, Andreescu will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, fifth seed and 60th in the world.
