Trains and buses will be free throughout Occitanie on Sundays June 30 and July 7, provided you present supporting documents.

Regional trains and buses will be free throughout the Occitanie region for the first and second rounds of the legislative elections, provided you go to your polling station, the Occitanie region has announced.

This measure during the weekends of June 30 and July 7 is conditional on fairly light supporting documents concerning the coach but more restrictive for the trains. To take the bus, users will only need to show their voter card or proof of registration on the electoral roll when boarding.

"Don't be speechless"

For regional trains, users will first have to complete an online form from June 24 for the first round and from July 1 for the second round. They will then receive an email containing their ticket, which they must present, with an identity document as well as a voter card or proof of registration on the electoral lists, in the event of an on-board inspection.

"The stakes are major for our country, today more than ever", a affirmed in a press release Carole Delga, PS president of the region and supporter of the New Popular Front. "For us, political leaders, it is a question of convincing the imperative need not to remain voiceless, without choice. Convince that every citizen can and must make their voice heard", she continued.

"It is also important to make this democratic exercise accessible to everyone. Mobility should not be a barrier to citizenship", explained the elected official.
